Q. Why should I use TempSpan CMT temporary cement?
A. TempSpan CMT temporary cement is an eugenol-free resin cement formulated for ideal retention, easy clean-up, and prevention of post-operative sensitivity during the provisional stage. Our convenient double-barrel syringe with automix tips enables you to place the cement directly into the provisional.
Q. What components are added to reduce post-operative sensitivity?
A.TempSpan CMT temporary cement contains 3 ingredients to reduce post-operative sensitivity: sodium fluoride, potassium nitrate, and calcium phosphate.
Q. Can I use TempSpan CMT temporary cement to temporarily cement veneers?
A. Pentron does not recommend the use of TempSpan CMT temporary cement for veneers.
Q. What are the working and setting times of TempSpan CMT temporary cement?
A. TempSpan CMT temporary cement offers a working time of 1.5 minutes and an oral set time of 2.5 – 3 minutes.
Q. Where should I store TempSpan CMT temporary cement?
A. Please store TempSpan CMT temporary cement in the refrigerator between 36 and 55 degrees Fahrenheit (2 – 13 degrees Celsius) and use it at room temperature.
Q. Can I use TempSpan CMT temporary cement to bond a temporary crown to a resin core?
A. Yes, just make sure to apply a very thin coat of anesthetic gel, petroleum jelly, or glycerin to prevent TempSpan CMT temporary cement from adhering to the resin core build-up.
Q. I noticed a thin black film when I removed my temporary crown. What causes this?
A. A thin black film can form when components within the TempSpan CMT temporary cement react with epinephrine or astringent, causing an iron oxide reaction to occur and leave a thin black film. To prevent this, rinse the prep site with plenty of water and air dry very well before applying TempSpan CMT cement.
